Pictures From Kartweek in DaytonaJan 4, 2011
Over the Christmas Break we travelled to Daytona International Speedway for the WKA Kartweek. They had 682 entries, TAG had 44 entries, Leopard had about the same, Cadet and Yamaha Jr Sportsman both had close to 50 entries. One of those classes had an LCQ of 29 drivers for just 5 spots to transfer to the pre-final! We were at the race with one of our customers 2010 Daytona 500 Champion Jamie McMurray, who designed, built and raced his own go kart as well as a CRG Road Rebel. It was worth battling the snow and the cold to race on the kart track inside turns 3 and 4. Keep in mind that I am not the best of photographers and these were taken with my Blackberry.

Yes, that is Jamie McMurray diving into the engine on the kart that he designed and built. Drivers need to be hands on with their karts. Also in the picture is Jamie's dad, multiple karting national champions Gary Carlton and Wes Phillips Sunset at Daytona International Speedway
